A new bus service will serve the new community and will also bring benefits to the residents of Stukeley Meadows and employees at Ermine Business Park, for whom current bus services are particularly limited. The buses will link NorthBridge to the town centre and will be high-quality vehicles which lower to enable mothers with children, the disabled and the elderly to board and alight easily.
The map opposite shows the proposed bus routes through NorthBridge and the town - entering at the northern access point which is reserved for buses and emergency vehicles, and will follow a loop road through the development. These new routes will provide enhanced public transport links not just for the NorthBridge residents but for the whole town and will provide wider access to public transport helping to reduce car usage.
There will be a network of new cycle paths for getting around NorthBridge which will also provide a link to improved cycleways across the town including the town centre, railway station and areas where people work. This will reduce reliance on the private car as well as providing recreational routes around the development. To read more about footpaths and cycle routes, click here.
Many of these improvements will be provided at the very start of the NorthBridge development thereby ensuring the infrastructure is ready and available for new residents as well as benefiting existing residents of the town.
